HOW IT WORKS

APPOINTMENTS AND COSTS

Ideally we will have an initial conversation on the phone but we can also communicate by email if you're more comfortable with that. If I think I can help and you decide to go ahead, we can make an appointment for a first session, for which I will charge £26.

If, after that, you decide that you would like to work with me, I will ask that you commit to a minimum of six sessions. Full sessions are 50 minutes long and charged at £52, although I can occasionally offer a lower rate if you are struggling to pay the full price.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

I offer a safe, supportive and confidential environment for individuals seeking help and guidance. Through a personalised and person centred approach, I will work with you to help address your challenges and emotions, and to empower you to navigate through difficult times, to a better place.

DEPRESSION

Dealing with depression can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to face it alone. I provide a listening ear and compassionate, empathic support. Counselling can help you to develop effective strategies to overcome depression and to regain a sense of hope and purpose. Enabling you to love and to work and to feel that life is indeed worth living.

COUPLES AND RELATIONSHIP THERAPY

I work with only a very small number of couples because the work can be very hard, and it always depends on the couple having sufficient good will to work together towards a positive outcome. But when conditions are right it can help couples and individuals build stronger, more meaningful connections and resolve their conflicts effectively. Couples therapy sessions provide a space for open communication, conflict resolution, and the strengthening of emotional connections.

ADDICTION

Overcoming addiction and other self destructive behaviour patterns requires a comprehensive and personalised approach. Addiction and behavioural counselling focuses on understanding the root causes of the problem and developing effective coping mechanisms to support long-term recovery and change. PARENTING DIFFICULTIES

Parenting comes with its unique set of challenges. I offer support and guidance to parents facing difficulties, helping them to develop effective strategies and to create a nurturing environment for their children.

ANGER MANAGEMENT

Managing anger is essential for our well-being and our relationships. I will work with you to understand what is triggering your anger, when it is useful to you and when it is not. Together we will work to find strategies to help you understand and manage your anger in constructive ways, promoting emotional balance, healthy relationships and positive communication.

STRESS & TRAUMA

Coping with stress and trauma can be challenging, but seeking help is the first step towards healing. I offer a safe space to process and heal from traumatic experiences, and develop healthy strategies to manage stress effectively. It's not about digging up the past, but it is about understanding how what happened to you back then is still affecting you now and finding a way to move on.

ANXIETY

Anxiety and panic can be debilitating, but with the right support, you can learn to manage and reduce its impact. My counselling approach focuses on equipping you with practical tools and coping mechanisms to alleviate anxiety and regain a sense of control in your life. But it goes deeper too. By understanding the roots of you fears you can learn to overcome them and stop feeling like the subject of your life to become its author instead.
